Brief description of the programme/project/Initiative :
We conducted survey in the nearby village to identify the basic problems of the villagers. The following areas were identified 1. Lack of consumer awareness 2. Lack of drinking water facilities 3. Sanitation 4. Health & hygiene 5. Drug abuse. The solution for all these problems were sorted out scientifically using technology. Students had directly involved to create awareness among the local people by involving ICT, Local Panchayat, Dist. Administration and the Staff Members.

Why was the project started :

  1. To establish a link with the local community
  2. To make use of the resources available in the vidyalaya
  3. To educate the villagers on various day to day problems.
  4. To give a helping hand to the rural mass.

Objective :

  1. To create awareness
  2. To develop problem solving ability among the students.
  3. To give firsthand experience and sense of belongingness among the students
  4. To make the vidyalaya and integral part of the society.
  5. To make the students understand the various problems of the Community.

Geographical reach : 2 Kms away from school and 200 Kms away from Bangalore.

10 points that make the programme/project innovative?

  1. Use of Technology such as Road Map, Flyer, Excel Spread Sheet etc.,
  2. Involving Panchayat head, Dist. Administrtation, Local People of the village and the vidyalaya.
  3. Sharing the resources of the vidyalaya with community.
  4. Research oriented – Involving the students to take up research work at the vidyalaya level to find out solution for the problems of the society.
  5. Team Work – Involving the staff and students of the entire vidyalaya to take part in this project actively and effectively.
  6. Use of Media – To publish the work done by the vidyalaya.
  7. Direct face to face interaction between the students and the community.
  8. Using resource persons to make the programme innovating. (Ex- Involving bank officials to create consumer awareness)
  9. Bringing the local community to the vidyalaya to educate them (Arranging practical session for women on Mushroom cultivation and showing the Rain Water Harvesting available in the vidyalaya.
  10. To develop competative spirit and sense of belongingness among the students.

    Jnv dvg had done a very grate job.the teachers and students of navoday vidyalayas can do any of the projects like this one with a marvelous if the projects like this will be given to every jnv then the results would be very nice and people can solve their any of the community problems by the help of students with concerned digital learning technique adopted over here.jnv dvg had done such a job very nice job with the available resource…..

    It is a stupendent effort on the partof the students of JNV, Devarahalli to have conducted a survey in a community which is much backward , devoid of awareness and steeped in old customs. The community is also prone to drinks and drug abuse. Many congrstulations to Mrs. Ammal and her team being inspired by Mr.Vastrad – the earstwhile Deputy Commissioner and Mr.Pattanshetty – the current Deputy Commissioner. All the ery best to them for winning the coveted award.
