Brief description of the programme/project/Initiative :
MBBS Consult – is a unique e-learning and training tool for use by medical colleges in order to supplement teaching/learning process. It will provide training modules that uses learning principles and power of technology to convert standardized content into the training solutions for positive changes in efficiency, productivity, quality of health professional education.

Why was the project started :
India is a Supply Constrained Nation when it comes to Medical Infrastructure: No. of Beds, No. of Physicians (shortfall of 100,000 Doctors), No. of Nurses. Besides, the poor Medical Education Infrastructure adds to the woes: Medical Seats, inadequate colleges & faculty, non availability of teaching aids, lack of adequate animals, cadavers and patients for practical exposure. Elsevier as a leading Medical Publisher of Worlds most authoritative content wanted to contribute to the healthcare industry by building a technologically sound and rich-in-content product which can not only help in bridging some of these gaps but also to empower the medical teacher to deliver the learning objectives more effectively to a larger number of students.

To enhance the medical teaching and learning process by empowering educators/professors to deliver the learning objectives more efficiently to a larger number of medical students.

  1. Understanding the need of the market.This was addressed by extensive prototyping and hiring full time doctors to work for this project
  2. Convincing internal stakeholders for supporting and funding the project and was addressed by the results of prototyping testing.
  3. Collaboration with the reputed medical colleges for providing the subject matter expertise and was overcome by working closely with them for generating a lot of prototypes
  4. Generating the standardized content from senior professors in a particular time frame

  1. This project is done in collaboration with a reputed medical school of India and if it is successfully implemented there it can be adapted by other medical schools across the country
  2. MBBS Consult can be replicated in dental and nursing schools

  1. It is targeting the undergraduate health professional trainees can be scaled to post graduate trainees

  4. We can take the project further to the fields of nursing and dental sciences.
